Private/Semi-Private Lessons
Due to the national aquatic staffing shortage, we are currently limiting private and semi-private swim lessons. At this time, private swim lessons are being reserved for swimmers who are unable to progress in the group lesson setting.
We encourage everyone to explore our group swim lesson program, which offers high-quality instruction in a fun, supportive environment.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to navigate staffing challenges and work to provide the best possible experience for all swimmers at the J.
Additional Information
Goggles + Swim Caps + Hair Ties, OH MY!
While we do have some loaner goggles on site, the supply is consistently changing. If your child uses goggles, we recommend purchasing your own pair and labeling them with your childโs name. This helps eliminate the time the instructor spends to help โfixโ goggle problems, which allows more time for learning.
If your child has hair that can cover their face when swimming, we recommend using a hair tie and/or swim cap. By keeping the hair held back, your child will be able to concentrate more on improving their skills and less on wiping hair out of their face.
Apprehensive or Nervous Swimmers
If your child is new to the J or to the pool environment, or you suspect they will be a little timid, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early so they can get comfortable with the pool atmosphere. You can also bring their favorite bath/pool toy to help with the transition.
