Late Registration:

Private/Semi-Private Lessons

Due to the national aquatic staffing shortage, we are currently limiting private and semi-private swim lessons. At this time, private swim lessons are being reserved for swimmers who are unable to progress in the group lesson setting.

We encourage everyone to explore our group swim lesson program, which offers high-quality instruction in a fun, supportive environment.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to navigate staffing challenges and work to provide the best possible experience for all swimmers at the J.

Additional Swim Lesson Opportunities with J Camp

We are excited to partner with J Camp to offer additional swim lesson opportunities during the camp day!

Register now

Camp Katan Swim Lesson Add-On
For younger campers enrolled in Camp Katan, families can add swim lessons to their camp registration. These lessons take place in the morning and include:
โ€ข 30 minutes of swim instruction
โ€ข 30 minutes of supervised free swim time

Kef & Kehillah Swim Lesson Add-On
Campers enrolled in Kef and Kehillah may also register for the swim lesson add-on. These lessons take place at the end of the camp day from 3:15โ€“3:45 pm.

J Camp staff will drop campers off at the locker room, where our staff will escort them to the pool and direct them to their lesson.

Campers who need transportation after lessons must be enrolled in PM Care in order for our staff to escort them back. If your camper is not enrolled in PM Care, an authorized adult must be present on the pool deck at 3:45 pm for pick-up.

If an authorized pick-up is not present and staff must escort the camper back to the locker room, a $10 late pick-up fee will be charged to your account.

Additional Information

Goggles + Swim Caps + Hair Ties, OH MY!

While we do have some loaner goggles on site, the supply is consistently changing. If your child uses goggles, we recommend purchasing your own pair and labeling them with your childโ€™s name. This helps eliminate the time the instructor spends to help โ€œfixโ€ goggle problems, which allows more time for learning.

If your child has hair that can cover their face when swimming, we recommend using a hair tie and/or swim cap. By keeping the hair held back, your child will be able to concentrate more on improving their skills and less on wiping hair out of their face.

Apprehensive or Nervous Swimmers

If your child is new to the J or to the pool environment, or you suspect they will be a little timid, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early so they can get comfortable with the pool atmosphere. You can also bring their favorite bath/pool toy to help with the transition.
