Guest Experience Specialist
Help create the warm, safe, friendly atmosphere that makes the J so special. Guest Experience Specialists are be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to members, guests, and employees at the agency’s Welcome Desk, J Café, and/or Fitness Center. Play an integral role in creating a positive and welcoming experience for members and guests visiting the Stroum Jewish Community Center.

Teach people to become safe, capable and independent swimmers at any age! The SJCC is hiring part-time swim instructors for our indoor, year-round pool. No experience is required; we provide training!

HR Manager
We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to help everyone at the SJCC grow into the professional they hope to become, supported by the tools, resources and peers to help achieve those goals. Our HR Manager is responsible for managing the full breadth of human resources functions at Stroum Jewish Community Center, including employee relations, compliance, benefits and compensation, the entire employee experience, talent acquisition, HRIS management, policy and process development, and performance management.

Here’s an opportunity to make a real difference, learn vital skills, responsibility, and teamwork. Join the SJCC Aquatics team as a lifeguard. You’ll sit poolside, ready to act when needed or help with pool maintenance and upkeep alongside your teammates. This is an excellent chance to learn to be proactive, vigilant, and to work thoughtfully with others. You’ll refine your communication skills and learn how to create environments for safe recreation and skill-building. While we welcome trained lifeguards, we also offer regular lifeguard training programs, and love to hire directly out of our classes (see our Events Calendar for upcoming classes).

Summer J Camp Counselors, Specialists, Coordinators, and Office Admin
J Camp staff work in teams to create meaningful, fun, and safe experiences for kids all summer. Together with dozens of your peers, you will develop leadership and problem-solving skills; learn how to empower, motivate, and coach others; and have an excellent time doing so!

We’re looking for counselors, specialists, coordinators, and an Office Administrator for summer 2023 (June 26-Aug. 25; staff training June 18-23). This is a part-time role for 3-10 weeks, position dependent. Pay starts at $16 per hour.

Payroll + Benefits Associate
Keep our dynamic SJCC team doing their best work! 

We are looking for a full-time Payroll and HR Assistant to process twice monthly payroll for 120-200 employees, administer benefits, ensure related compliance, and maintain accurate records for the organization. This is an hourly, non-exempt position with a pay range of $25-31/hour.

Education/Experience: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two or more years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience with payroll systems is required; experience with Paylocity is a plus. 

Other Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a demonstrated commitment to discretion and experience handling sensitive/confidential information; knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization orally and in writing, and ability calculate figures and amounts using basic algebra.
