Hitting the Trails

BELLEVUE, Wash. — On Monday local teens gathered to clean local trails for Tu B’Shevat and Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The event was part of the Stroum Jewish Community Center’s Mitzvah Corps day of service in our local parks. Tu B’Shevat, also known as the “new year of the trees,” has become a day of ecological awareness and people often plant trees to celebrate. This year, Tu B’Shevat fell on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, so we partnered with Washington Trails Association (WTA) to do trail maintenance at the Sky Country Trailhead.

There were 10 teens from throughout greater Seattle that joined us for an amazing day on the trail! Take a look for yourself:
