CineBeliefs is a new year-round film program that welcomes audiences to engage spiritual themes in cinema and participate in interfaith dialogue with leaders from different Jewish, religious and spiritual traditions and viewpoints. Miyazaki’s cinematic masterpiece is built on the foundation of Shinto-Buddhist beliefs, but the film’s themes (i.e., consumerism, environmentalism, transformation, personal growth) resonate across cultural and religious boundaries.
