Hip Hop Dance

This hoppin’ class was created specifically for kids who love to dance! Students will have 6 weeks of fun and exciting classes that focus on the coolest dance moves to pop music. Participants will learn basic dance skills like keeping rhythm, following choreography, and developing body control all while building self-esteem and confidence in this energetic class.

Watts Basketball Academy

Kids learn the fundamentals of basketball from a PRO!  Players will build confidence, self-esteem, teamwork, and social skills while learning the basics and having fun. Led by Donald “Slick” Watts, former Seattle SuperSonics Guard and a Seattle schools physical education teacher of 20 years.

Cooking Up Knowledge

Calling all adventurous eaters and budding chefs! Join us after school for child-friendly recipes that show off diverse cultures through food. While working in the kitchen students will practice safe kitchen tool use, food preparation, and enjoy all the sensory delights cooking has to offer. Please communicate any food allergies with Enrichment Coordinator Vance Snelson.

New! STEAM Maker: Space Travel Puppet Show (Thursday)

Students will make puppets and props using various art and recycled materials, and woo their audience with special technical effects. Instructors’ goals are to build students’ interest and confidence in STEM through hands-on collaborative activities. We will introduce various robotic games, maker tools,and special guests to help students understand concepts and inspire them to incorporate curriculum into their group projects. This fall we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. Family and friends are welcome to view the final performance at the last session!

Karate-X

Join Karate-X for awesome classes that are disciplined, challenging and fun! Students will learn and practice karate skills with punching bags, breaking boards, blocking drills, kicking targets and more!  Karate-X has been teaching in the Puget Sound for 19 years, with a martial arts program specifically designed for preschool and elementary students. Our professional instructors know how to motivate kids while building self-confidence and discipline. Belt rank testing is held at the end of each session, giving students goals to aim for and recognition of their accomplishments. For beginners who have never tried karate, to athletes of any sport, Karate-X will challenge and grow bodies and minds!

Little Coders: Coding Class

This class provides young students with the basics of computational thinking, such as coordinates, loops, and conditionals, through a blend of “unplugged” and online activities. Designed specifically for early learners.

New! Creative Art Network: Comic Books

Have you ever read a comic book and wanted to make your own? In this class, students will use traditional art supplies (pen, pencil, and paper) to make their own comic book. Students will receive coaching on how to draw specific characters and 3D objects, and will be supported in finding their own artistic style and voice. Check out this short video to learn more.
