SJCC Book Club: “Enormous Wings” + Author Laurie Frankel

December 15 • 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Our December Book Club pick is “Enormous Wings,” the latest book by New York Times bestselling Seattle author Laurie Frankel. At seventy-seven, Pepper Mills is starting over in a retirement community in Austin when she receives astonishing news: she is pregnant. Suddenly, an intensely personal decision becomes very public, with family, doctors, the media and strangers weighing in on what she should do.

Funny, compassionate, and thought-provoking, “Enormous Wings” explores aging, family relationships and Jewish identity with humor woven throughout the story.

We will discuss the book and then be joined in person by the Seattle author to continue the conversation and share her insights into the new novel and the ideas behind it.
