School’s Out J Camp – Sept. 2

We know many families are closely following the potential Seattle Public Schools teacher strike and what it could mean for the start of the school year. We are following developments and preparing to support families if school does not begin as expected.

If schools are closed because of the strike on Wednesday, Sept. 2, the SJCC will offer a special School’s Out Camp from 9 am–4 pm for up to 30 children.

Please note that we cannot offer care Sept. 3–4 because the J will be closed for previously scheduled work required to improve several of our building systems.

If the strike continues beyond Labor Day, we will offer additional Schools Out Camp options beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8.

We know schedule changes can significantly affect families, and we hope this option provides flexibility and support as we await more information.

Registration and cancellation: If school begins as scheduled on Sept. 2, camp will be canceled and your account will not be charged. If camp takes place, your account will be charged that day. If your plans change, please let us know by 4 pm Sept. 1 to cancel without charge. After that deadline, the camp fee will apply if camp takes place.
