Outsmarting Scammers: Protect Yourself from Today’s Scams

Scammers are becoming increasingly sophisticated, using artificial intelligence, phone number cloning, robocalls and other technology to target individuals. Join the Mercer Island Police Department to learn how to recognize common scams and protect yourself and your personal information.

We’ll discuss warning signs to watch for, including government and police impersonation scams, grandparent scams, tech support scams, sweepstakes and lottery scams and sweetheart scams. You’ll also learn practical steps you can take to stay safe and what to do if you think you’ve been scammed.
