November SJCC Book Club: “Island of the Missing Trees”

Join us for the SJCC Book Club, a space for thoughtful reading, meaningful discussion, and connections across our SJCC community.

Set between war-torn Cyprus in 1974 and modern-day London, “Island of the Missing Trees,” by Elif Shafak, tells the secret love story of Kostas, a Greek Cypriot, and Defne, a Turkish Cypriot, whose romance is uniquely witnessed and narrated by a sentient fig tree.
