What’s New in Development

Welcome new Chief Development Officer Michelle Becque

Please join us in welcoming Michelle Becque as the Stroum Jewish Community Center’s new chief development officer. Many of you may know Michelle, as she’s cultivated philanthropic support for various initiatives across the Jewish community for the past 11 years.

Michelle became a Seattle Jewish community professional when she joined the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle in 2011, serving as a development officer and then assistant campaign director. In 2014, Michelle transitioned into the role of director of annual giving at Jewish Family Service of Seattle where she spent the last 8 ½ years raising money to broaden JFS’ impact through individual philanthropy and grant funding. The Stroum JCC is thrilled to be the next place where Michelle advances our community and her career.

On March 15, Michelle will officially join the SJCC team, leading all philanthropy for the J. Leading the SJCC development team, Michelle will define the future of SJCC development and work hard to broaden communal support for the Stroum JCC’s growth and impact around the region. She will be working closely with other team members, Marla Goldberg and Simon Broches.

Marla Goldberg joined the SJCC team in November 2022 and immediately led the production of the Stroum JCC’s Annual Celebration and Fundraiser on February 11, which brought hundreds of SJCC supporters back to the J for a night of laughter, friendship, and philanthropy. Marla, the SJCC director of individual giving, will play a vital role in community connection and gift development with donors across the community. Marla can be reached at MarlaG@sjcc.org or 206-388-1998.

Simon Broches supports the team in annual campaign outreach and solicitations, gift processing, administration, and coordination. Simon is your key contact for gift receipts, tribute processing, and other questions related to gift transactions. Please reach out to Simon at SimonB@sjcc.org or 206-388-0836.

This is an exciting time for our community and our agency to grow stronger than ever. Please join us in warmly welcoming Michelle to the SJCC.
