Fitness Class Updates: March 9

Update 3/11/20: We are able to move a few of the larger fitness classes to the gym, in order to avoid capping class participants.

As we all face this new challenge with COVID-19, we want to communicate temporary changes we’re making in our Fitness & Aquatics programs to better align with official guidance at this time.

Starting this Wednesday, March 11, group fitness classes will be limited to the number of participants listed below (based on class location), to provide more space between attendees. We will be issuing ‘participant cards’ to manage class numbers, which will be available at the Welcome Desk 15 minutes before each class. The cards will be laminated and cleaned between use.

Please stop by the Welcome Desk as you arrive for your class to grab a card. Should the class already be full upon your arrival, the Fitness Center remains open for individual exercise. We are also implementing new sanitizing practices for all equipment used in classes and in the Fitness Center. Please uphold these practices to help protect us all from COVID-19 and all other communicable diseases.

Please continue to check our website for updates and resources. We also want to specifically note the CDC considers these populations at high risk of complications related to COVID-19:

  • People older than 60 years
  • People with chronic medical conditions
  • People with weakened immune systems
  • Pregnant people

If you fall into one of these categories, please note that Public Health recommends that “people at higher risk of severe illness should stay home and away from large groups of people as much as possible, including public places with lots of people and large gatherings where there will be close contact with others. This includes concert venues, conventions, sporting events, and crowded social gatherings.” More information is available here.

Thank you for working with us and staying informed during these unusual times. Take good care and work to stay healthy!
