For over thirty years, award-winning photographer Lloyd Wolf has documented klezmer musicians, a uniquely Jewish art form, from old-school performers like Sid Beckerman, Julie Epstein and Elaine Hoffman Watts to the Grammy-winning Klezmatics, Andy Statman and Itzhak Perlman, to younger stars like Michael Winograd, So-Called, Sasha Lurje and Kleztronica. Wolf’s photographs sizzle with energy, capturing the soul and sound of the performers in visual form.

ABOUT:  Lloyd Wolf is an award-winning photographer whose work has been shown in over 150 exhibitions internationally and is collected in numerous museums. He has done assignments for “The Washington Post Magazine,” “National Geographic Explorer,” “People,” AFl-CIO, the Smithsonian, HBO, Jewish Telegraphic Agency, “Forward,” “Moment” and “Vogue.” He has received a National Endowment for the Arts grant and leads a diverse team of artists for the Columbia Pike Documentary Project. Previous books include “Jewish Mothers: Strength Wisdom Compassion,” “Jewish Fathers: A Legacy of Love,” “Facing the Wall. Americans at the Vietnam Memorial,” “Living Diversity,” “Transitions” and “The Road Ahead.” He has taught at Shepherd College, George Mason University and to homeless and immigrant youth.
