Your Vote Matters! Conversations on Equity and Inclusion

MERCER ISLAND, Wash. – ONE MI, Do the Work MI, and SJCC present a series of non-partisan candidate forums centered around understanding how equity and inclusion play a role in our candidates’ vision for Mercer Island.

The Stroum Jewish Community Center is 501(c)3 organization and takes no position on issues nor endorses any candidates.

Tuesday, Oct. 19 – School Board Community Forum: Held Oct. 19 at 7 pm. The School Board Forum was moderated by Martha Brant and featured Position 2 candidates Brian Giannini Upton and Daniel Glowitz, along with Position 4 candidates Lacey Aaker and Deborah Lurie.

Thursday, Oct. 21 – City Council Forum: Held Oct. 21 at 7 pm. Live on Zoom. The City Council Forum was moderated by Bill Radke and featured Position 2 candidates Daniel Becker and Salim Nice (who was not present); Position 4 candidates Michael Curry and Ted Weinberg; and Position 6 candidates Kate Akyuz and Lisa Anderl.
