SJCC Book Club: The Last Woman of Warsaw
Join us for the SJCC Book Club, a space for thoughtful reading, meaningful discussion, and connections across our SJCC community..
Our May book club pick is The Last Woman of Warsaw by Judy Batalion. In 1938 Warsaw, Fanny Zelshinsky, an aspiring Jewish artist from an elite family, and Zosia Dror, a young woman from a religious shtetl involved in a Zionist youth movement, are brought together when a prominent artist and mentor disappears. Their search unfolds against a vibrant Jewish Warsaw increasingly threatened by antisemitism.
Donโt Miss! Judy Batalion speaks at the J on May 23. Read the book, join the discussion, hear from the author.
Please note: Participants will need to purchase their own copy of the book. We recommend finishing the book before our meeting so you can fully join the discussion!
Books are available at Island Books. Mention the SJCC when you purchase your copy to receive 10% off.
