On Sunday, Nov. 5, our community came together for conversation + tasting with chef Adeena Sussman, author of the new cookbook “Shabbat: Recipes and Rituals from My Table to Yours.” In Sussman’s home, the Shabbat table has always been a nourishing place where all are welcome, and a weekly opportunity to feed the soul. The tantalizing recipes in her book reflect this warmth. Now, more than ever, Shabbat cooking is what we need.
The event began with a kosher tasting and community table conversations before a moderated conversation with Adeena Sussman and Rebekah Denn, The Seattle Times food writer and two-time James Beard Award winner.
There was also a post-show Q&A spearheaded by a panel of community members who regularly convene artful Shabbat gatherings. They shared thoughtful table rituals and methods for creating meaningful and memorable conversations and ritual-making from their home to yours. Here are some pictures from the amazing event.
