Dear Members,
Boy, have we missed seeing you all the past two weeks at the SJCC. The SJCC halls are meant to be alive with people laughing, learning, smiling, jumping, running, and most importantly, connecting with each other. It’s just too quiet.
As you know, the SJCC is a not-for-profit organization, and while we are financially sound during typical times, we do not have the deep cash reserves to absorb the economic impacts of this once-in-a-lifetime event. Please stand beside us as we work to weather this COVID-19 crisis, so that we are ready to serve you as soon as the facility reopens. As much as you need the J, at this critical moment in time, the SJCC needs you.
Help us by maintaining your membership
For the SJCC to continue to operate after COVID-19, we need your continued support today. With this in mind, we are asking everyone to continue paying monthly membership dues as a Sustaining Membership. These dollars support our efforts to bring you familiar faces during this time on Virtual SJCC and SJCC TV, and will also help support our staff, maintain the facility, and ensure the building is ready to open and welcome you back as soon as it is safe to do so.
As a thank you for your continued support, we will provide a $20 J Cafe gift card for you to use when we reopen.
If you are facing financial hardship as a result of COVID-19, we will waive the usual $35 administration fee to put your membership on hold. Contact Dana Weiner with your request. Our 30-day cancellation policy continues to apply.
Extend your support
This crisis is a particularly hard one, as we don’t know how long it will last, and it’s impacting our revenue on every front. For that reason, we ask you to consider a gift to the SJCC Sustainability Fund to see us through—till we can again give you a warm smile, high five, or a piece of challah at the front desk.
Donate to the SJCC Sustainability Fund
Thank you for being part of our community and continuing to participate and connect with us. We also appreciate your patience, correspondence, and support during this challenging time. We look forward to jumping back into service as soon as it is safe to do so. In the meantime, take good care of yourselves.
B’Shalom (In peace),
Amy Lavin, SJCC CEO
