Spring Painting Series: Gouache

Thinking about painting, but don’t know where to start? Local artist Renee Plevy leads this four-class series designed for beginners. This is the perfect way to learn the basics of gouache in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. All materials and expert instruction included.
Gouache is a water-based paint designed to be less transparent than watercolor. It dries to a flat finish and does not have that watery look compared to watercolors.
Your registration covers all four two-hour sessions. Participants must be able to attend all four sessions.

About the Instructor
Renee Plevy is a nationally renowned figurative and portrait artist and educator with over 40 years of experience painting many well-known personalities, special families, and well-loved pets. Her work has been in over 65 galleries, museums, and juried shows.
She won acclaim as โArtist of the Yearโ as well as numerous awards for her paintings and philanthropy. Renee is a graduate of SVA, Boston University, and the Art Students League. In addition to portrait commissions, Renee has been teaching Painting and Portraiture in NYC at SVA as well as The Boca Raton Museum Art School, and many other venues. โฏSince moving to Seattle in 2022, she has taught at Cornish, Seattle Central College, Edmunds Community College, Shoreline Community College and Kirkland Art Center.
A degree in education has served her well, as she teaches many of the skills most other artists skim over, and her hundreds of students are taught the basics, much of which was never taught. Renee gives her students the tools to be able to draw/paint on their own with the knowledge to be able to achieve their goals.
