Making Waves

Another week of summer, another week well spent at J Camp!

Summer fun came in the form of a dunk tank this week, with campers aiming for a target in hopes of dumping water on their counselors. We also beat the heat with water balloon fights, play time on the splash pad and lots of time on the lake paddleboarding and canoeing with Waterfront.

Week 8 campers unraveled the mystery of the brain with engaging dissections, mastered martial arts moves from their favorite movies, and cooked dishes from around the world, learning new cultures along the way.

We celebrated Yom Yisrael (Israel Day) on Friday! In the morning, campers “flew to Israel” during Boker Tov. They enjoyed a large inflatable slide and games just like they were at Tel Aviv’s Luna Park and made sand art inspired by the beaches of Eilat. Campers also spent time making hummus from scratch, exploring a lively shuk, and doing kibbutz-inspired teamwork activities.

For the past two weeks, some campers have been working hard as Counselors in Training. They gained firsthand experience the role of counselors while fine-tuning leadership skills in group dynamics, curriculum creation, project management, and problem-solving. We’re thankful for their enthusiasm, and we can’t wait to see them back at the J next summer!

The summer has flown by, but the adventure isn’t over, let’s make the last week the best one yet!
