Our Philosophy

At Schwartz ECS, we believe all children are inherently capable, competent, and natural researchers. Our philosophy emphasizes exploration, discovery, and play, and is rooted in an innovative approach to early childhood education that originated in Reggio Emilia, Italy, following World War II.

Teachers facilitate engaging and challenging educational opportunities in response to childrenโ€™s innate sense of wonder, guiding them to become curious, confident, and compassionate learners.

Our philosophy focuses on respect, responsibility, and community. We meet the individual needs of each growing child in an atmosphere of warmth and connection where children gain a strong sense of compassion for themselves and others. Teachers support the development of the whole child, instilling empathy, resilience, and curiosity about the world, ensuring these traits become essential to who the child is.

Infant Program Philosophy

The Infant Program at Schwartz ECS is further inspired by the Resources for Infant Educators (RIE) philosophy that ensures infants are nurtured in an atmosphere of trust and respect, encouraging them to explore their environment with confidence and develop at their own pace.
