At the SJCC, we foster deep Jewish connections through the performance of mitzvot (good deeds). Our volunteer program matches your talents and interests with a need in our local communityโwhether supporting an SJCC program or assisting our neighbors across the greater Seattle area.
Together, we can build a stronger, more connected community by embodying gratitude and kindness in everyday actions. Will you join us in making a difference?

Single-Day Volunteer Opportunities
Dinner At Our House
Join the J in the SJCC kitchen to prepare dinner for teen residents at a YouthCare home. We will provide all the groceries, supplies, and instructions to make a delicious meal for 25 people โ we just need you to help with the cooking! Upcoming opportunities:
Donation Drivers
Each year the SJCC facilitates four holiday themed food drives as well as an ongoing non-perishable food collection for the Jewish Family Service Polack food bank. We are looking for volunteers who can donate their time to deliver items to the food bank.
Kesher Garden
Our beautiful Kesher (community) Garden is a gift to the community and it also requires a lot of upkeep and maintenance. Please sign-up here to join one of our garden clean-up parties.
Teen Volunteering
The J offers volunteer opportunities for teens to connect with their community, make new friends, and explore.
Arts + Ideas Events
The Stroum Jewish Community Centerโs Arts + Ideas Stage features a robust season of live, livestreamed, and virtual performances and programs (music, comedy, theater, family shows, film screenings, and author/chef talks). The season runs from September – June. Volunteer opportunities vary by event, but may include ushering, ticket scanning, physical event set-up and breakdown.
Seattle Jewish Film Festival
Volunteering at the Seattle Jewish Film Festival is a wonderful way to support the arts, the community, and engage in Jewish life. Plus: you get to see films as a thanks for your time.
