For children entering kindergarten
This summer, Katan campers will experience tons of fun activities, including art, science, drama, cooking, storytelling, and outdoor exploration. This intimate camp has one of our lowest camper-to counselor ratio and features programs specifically for kids going into kindergarten.
Counselors are mature, positive role models with day camp experience. One of our camp values in particular, derech eretz (acting respectfully), will be at the forefront as we guide our youngest campers. Camp Katan kids will spend time throughout the week doing Judaic-themed programs and learning about their impact on other people and our community. Each week of camp culminates with an all-camp Shabbat on Friday afternoon.
Typical Daily Schedule
A typical day at Camp Katan includes creative Jewish programming, arts and crafts, exploring the SJCC Kesher Community Garden, science, nature education, sports, games, stories, Israeli activities, and quiet time to give campers a chance to relax with friends. We arrange the schedule so Katan campers will have the chance to explore areas of interest in a nurturing and responsive space. Red Cross-certified swim instructors supervise free swim in our indoor pool; lessons are also available before and after each camp day.
