Rock Steady Boxing: Fighting Back Against Parkinson’s
Rock Steady Boxing participants fight back against the symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease. With tough workouts, lots of laughter, and true camaraderie, we take on PD together.
Level 1/2 – The original! The class combines non-contact boxing drills, balance, agility, strength, and core exercises for individuals at all fitness levels. This high-energy class focuses on basic, non-contact boxing drills. Many other types of exercise are incorporated into the class to provide each participant with a full body workout. Participants need good mobility and the ability to get down on the floor and up again. No boxing experience is needed.
Level 3/4 – This class shares the same positive, fun, comprehensive approach to group exercise as the original class, but at a more moderate tempo. Workouts include non-contact boxing drills, balance, strength, cognitive activities and more. All exercises can be completed standing or seated.
Studies show that aerobic exercise can help people with Parkinson’s improve their quality of life and help actively combat their symptoms. Instructor Susie Rosenstein has been a personal trainer since 2012 and is a Rock Steady Boxing certified coach.
