DESCRIPTION:Let loose and have fun with the Boot Boogie Babes! \nIn this series\, you will learn the team performance dances that you will need to know for 2027 Auditions from beginner through our advanced level\, plus we will explain how we help develop stage presence and confidence with our Boot Sisters. We’ll also help build your confidence through empowerment and friendships while sharing our techniques in flair and sass! \nWe have three levels of performance teams\, including Beginner Boot Chicks\, Intermediate Boot Girls\, and our world-famous Boot Boogie Babes! \nWe are looking for ALL LEVELS of dancers to join our organization! You don’t need any dance experience; just bring a smile and a good attitude! \nIn the Audition Boot Camp series\, you will learn team performance dances from each of our levels starting with our beginner dances and working our way through to intermediate and then into our advanced level dances. \nBoot Boogie Babes Audition Boot Camp runs each Monday evening from September 28th – November 9th. \nThe Boot Boogie Babes is more than just dancing. She is a Gold Life Master with the American Contract Bridge League and has almost 2400 masterpoints. In 2008\, she and her partner Dennis Duryea purchased Eastside Bridge Center in Redmond\, WA. Under Dianne’s leadership\, the club became the largest bridge club in Washington. \nAfter the club was sold in 2012\, Dianne continued teaching and directing in the Seattle area. They have now successfully instructed on various cruises around the world.

Raised as a sailor on her father’s merchant ship\, Rachel Romain’s father comes to realize that the sea is no place for a young woman. Rachel is put ashore in London against her will. She doesn’t fit in. Raised by her uncle\, a surgeon\, and aunt\, she falls in love with medicine and yearns to be a surgeon\, impossible in England\, but not for Rachael. \nRead the book in advance\, then join us for a discussion with the author. Whether you’ve finished every page or simply want to hear the conversation\, all are welcome. \nThe book is available at Island Books and Amazon.com. \n \nThis event is part of the SJCC Endless Opportunities series\, a community program offering daytime educational and social events where participants can learn\, socialize\, laugh and make friends. Endless Opportunities is hosted by the Stroum Jewish Community Center and supported by the following partners: Congregation Beth Shalom\, Congregation Kol Ami\, Jewish Family Service\, Kline Galland\, Temple Beth Am\, Temple B’nai Torah and Temple De Hirsch Sinai. \n\nAbout the Author\nJames Gottesman\, MD\, is a surgeon who specialized in urinary tract cancers. He’s been writing scientific papers most of his adult life and started writing fiction when he retired in 2012: “The Road Back Isn’t Straight” (2012)\, “The Search of Grace” (2014)\, “Can’t Forget” (2016)\, “Stab Wound” (2018)\, “An Enemy to Love” (2021)\, “In Flew Enza” (2022)\, “The Angel of North Africa” (2024)\, and “The Remarkable Rachel Romain” (2025). \nGottesman graduated from UC Berkeley and UC San Francisco Medical Center and did his surgery residency at UCSF and his urology residency at UCLA. He was Assistant Professor of Urology at Rush Medical Center in Chicago and moved to Seattle in the 70s and served as Chairman of Urology of Swedish Medical Center and Clinical Professor of Urology at the University of Washington.

Phyllis will teach fun social dances that you can show off the next time you’re on the dance floor at a wedding\, your favorite local hangout or even at home with your family! \nLine dancing is a great workout and the perfect way to meet and make new friends. This is an all-gender inclusive class. \nWhat to Wear:\nThink work-out clothes with cowboy boots or your favorite tennis shoes! \nWhat to Bring:\nWATER! You will burn those country calories! \nThis session runs 8 weeks on Wednesdays from August 5th to September 23.  \n \nDeAnna Lee Dance provides a safe space for women of all ages\, sizes\, and backgrounds to grow through dance and friendships\, and they believe most strongly that empowered women\, empower women!  This program and all other SJCC community events are open to both SJCC members and guests of all faiths and backgrounds.

DESCRIPTION:Grab your dancing boots and boogie on down to the J to learn line dancing basics from Boot Boogie Babes Certified Lead Dance Instructor Phyllis Pierce. Phyllis will teach fun social dances that you can show off the next time you’re on the dance floor at a wedding\, your favorite local hangout or even at home with your family! \nLine dancing is a great workout and the perfect way to meet and make new friends. This is an all-gender inclusive class. \nWhat to Wear:\nThink work-out clothes with cowboy boots or your favorite tennis shoes! \nWhat to Bring:\nWATER! You will burn those country calories! \nThis session runs 8 weeks on Wednesdays from August 5th to September 23.  \n \nDeAnna Lee Dance provides a safe space for women of all ages\, sizes\, and backgrounds to grow through dance and friendships\, and they believe most strongly that empowered women\, empower women!  This program and all other SJCC community events are open to both SJCC members and guests of all faiths and backgrounds.
