Learning + Adventure All Year Long
Fall session II begins Oct. 31!
From summer camp to enrichment classes, and everything in between, Stroum Jewish Community Center J Kids + Teens programs have fun and engaging activities all year long. Whether they’re building robots or hitting the basketball court, splashing in our pool or exploring their Jewish roots, kids and teens will explore, create, and make great friends in a warm and welcoming environment.

Kidstown After-School Care
Kidstown is a special place at the J where kids in grades k-5th thrive in a safe and engaging environment, mentored by experienced counselors. Afternoons are filled with educational games, arts + crafts, homework help, and recreational activities.
- Swim with Kidstown Twice a week kids will swim in our indoor pool.
- Free Transportation Mercer Island School District buses drop off after school at the J.
- Coordination with Enrichment Classes + Swim Lessons Kidstown staff makes sure kids get to classes and swim lessons.
- Discounts Save with early registration and sibling discounts.
- Flexibility Give us 24-hour notice and, as long as we have room, your kids are welcome to drop in.
School’s Out J Camps
During the school year, from holidays to conference days—whenever school’s out, we provide a Summer J Camp experience all year long. We’ve got activities, games, crafts, swimming, and theme days.
- K-5th grade

- Nov. 21-23: Thanksgiving Break
- Dec. 19-23, 26-30: Winter Break
Enrichment After-School Classes
Fun, engaging afternoon classes for kids to learn, grow, and explore. Recent classes have included art, STEAM, chess, and sports—including recreational water polo, yoga, and karate.

Swim Lessons + Classes
From first kicks and bubbles to pre-competition swim team, lessons are available for all skill levels. Plus fun classes like Wacky Water Play and Water Polo.

Teen + Tween Programs
Guided by mentors, tweens and teens explore Jewish values and traditions that can guide them through their lives. Groups are safe spaces where discussions and activities encourage individual exploration.
Peer Groups
Groups meet monthly with a trained mentor to connect relevant teen issues with Jewish values—all while having a good time and fostering new friendships.

MyChai
MyChai will use New York University’s framework, which highlights 18 Jewish things a young Jew should know, care about, and be able to do by age 18.

Giving Initiative for Teens (GIFT)
GIFT is part of a national program to teach teens about grant-making, non-profit management, fundraising, and Jewish values. Encourages engagement in the community and empowers teens to lead the process, as they work together to raise and allocate funds to distribute to local non-profits.
