X Camp

Xploration and Xcitement! Get ready to grab your backpack and travel four days of the week to places you love and new places we know you’ll love! Each week our X Campers will build self-confidence and social skills all while traveling in a unit. From the beaches of Bellevue to peaks of the PNW we will keep our X Campers moving!

Cold or hot, these little bites will entice. Learn the art of creating a tapa (an appetizer or snack in Spanish cuisine) and table decorating. Create an inviting table display filled with savory and sweet delicacies.

Do you have a curious and artistic eye? Join us for this introduction to photography. We will take two field trips to visually intriguing places. We will focus on framing, lighting and composition. Bring your own digital camera or ready to load film camera and film each day!

Prefer to spend your days out on Lake Washington? Just can’t get enough canoeing, paddle boarding, and kayaking? Hang with J Camp’s aquatics team on Lake Washington and go on extended trips out on the water. You’ll learn about water safety and build great friendships while soaking up the sun.

NEW! Outdoor Adventure Camp

Do you love nature? Does the thrill of a peak and the beautiful view drive you to explore? Learn outdoor skills and take them with you as you travel to four different outdoor hikes this week. On Thursday, you will stay overnight at a campsite with your group and put your camping skills to the test! Campers will return just in time for an all-camp Shabbat and a shower.

Art of Giving

Combine being an artists, a global citizen and an entrepreneur. In this two week camp we will visit the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation and then create our own company – complete with a logo and marketing strategy-that makes and sells original, handmade artwork. The money we make will be used to fund a microloan program, which gives small loans to people in developing countries.

NEW! Junior Lifeguard

August 12-16

A great way for tween swimmers to be challenged and learn what it take to become a lifeguard. Participants will learn how to tell the difference between a distress and drowning victim, how to properly scan a pool, as well as how to maintain a pool area. This is a great way to see if your tween wants to become a lifeguard when they turn 15.


  • Must be able to swim 1 length of the pool (25 yards) doing front crawl with breathing to the front or the side.
  • Must be able to swim 1 length of the pool (25 yards) using a pull, breathe, kick, and glide sequence.
  • Must be comfortable in the deep water

Doing good can be fun too! As a group this camp will pick a project to better the SJCC that speaks to them. Campers will also head out on three projects around the Sound to better the community in which we live. Get your community service hours for school while becoming a leader in our community!

Watts Basketball Academy

August 26-30
Grades 3-8
Members $380 | Guests $420

Led by Husky alum, Donald Watts, this camp is for kids looking to improve their confidence, hone their basketball skills, and develop new friendships. Campers will learn to love hard work and embrace their unique selves and athleticism.
