Kids Group Lessons

SJCC offers group swim lessons for ages 6 months to 12 years.

Group lessons must have 3 registrants after the first week to continue through a session. If your group is cancelled due to low registration, you will have the opportunity to upgrade to private swim lessons for the session for an additional fee.

Our Classes

Ages 6 months-2 years

Lil Bubblers 1
Pre-requisites: ages 6-18 months; 1:12 pair ratio
Skills taught: parents and toddlers work together with an instructor to develop foundational skills for learning to swim and promoting water safety.

Lil Bubblers 2
Pre-requisites: ages 12-24 months; 1:12 pair ratio
Skills taught: parents and toddlers, work together with instructor to develop beginning swimming skills for learning strokes and promoting water safety.

Toddler Transition
Pre-requisites: 2 year olds only; 1:3 ratio; for toddlers who are ready to work with an instructor.
Skills taught: work on fundamental swimming and safety skills while learning to safely be a part of a group class. Parents are in the water for the first two classes and then transition to watching from the pool deck.

Please note: online registration for all Saturday and Sunday classes for Session I (June 23-July 15) is closed.

Intermediate
  • swim without assistance for 15 feet
  • float on front and back for 15 seconds
  • jump into the water without help
  • swim 25 yards without assistance
  • demonstrate front crawl
  • demonstrate back crawl
Preschool 4
Advanced
  • tread water
  • swim 25 feet using a modified crawl stroke
  • swim on back
  • swim the length of the pool on front and back
  • demonstrate side breathing for front crawl

J Camp Swim Boot Camp

Mondays-Thursdays | 8:30-9 am
Weekly, June 25-August 23
$68 for members; $84 for guests (per 4-lesson session)*

We’re offering a fun new way for your kids to get in the water more this summer, whether they’re just learning to swim or already experts. J Camp Swim Boot Camp is offered in weekly 4-lesson sessions throughout the summer. Lessons take place before the camp day starts, so your kids won’t miss a moment of J Camp fun! Plus, morning swim lessons are a great way for kids to start their day because they have the energy and focus to get the most out of their lessons.

* No lessons July 4; price will be pro-rated
