More on ONE MORE STORY (עוד סיפור אחד)
Guri Alfi | Narrative Rom-Com | Israel | 2021 | Hebrew w/English subtitles | 92m | PG-13
Adapted from Omar Barak’s bestselling novel, Wedding Rush, this charming rom-com marks the directorial debut of comedian and TV personality Guri Alfi (HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER, SJFF 2011; “Shababniks,” SJFF 2019; “The New Jew,” SJFF 2022). Quick-witted Yarden (Dina Senderson of HBO Max’s “Uri and Ella”) is a young, brilliant journalist who does not believe in love. In exchange for a book deal, she strikes a dubious deal with her unscrupulous boss and secret lover (Lior Ashkenazi) to write a series of reality TV–inspired, modern–romance columns based on the dating disasters of her best friend Adam—a hopelessly romantic, geeky, single male—who must date daily until he finds a soulmate to marry within a month. What could possibly go wrong? When things unexpectedly work out for Adam, Yarden decides it might be time give up her humiliating newspaper scoop and find true love for herself. ONE MORE STORY is a classic romantic comedy with a fresh—and very Israeli—twist.
