SJCC Book Club

Join us for the SJCC Book Club, a space for thoughtful reading, meaningful discussion, and connections across our SJCC community.

Our July Book Club pick is Cammy Sitting Shiva by Cary Gitter. After the death of her father, Cammy returns home for shiva and finds herself reconnecting with family members, old relationships, and complicated memories. Jewish ritual is at the center of the story. The book examines grief, family dynamics, intergenerational relationships, and how Jewish traditions help people navigate loss. It is accessible, contemporary, and discussion-friendly.

Please note: Participants will need to purchase their own copy of the book. We recommend finishing the book before our meeting so you can fully join the discussion!
