Join local cellist and founder of the Northwest Chamber Orchestra Louie Richmond for an afternoon of music, including a lecture and a performance. This event is free, but advance registration is encouraged.
About the Guest
Louie Richmond studied with Orlando Cole at the New School of Music in Philadelphia. He also studied with Lorne Monroe, principal cellist of the Philadelphia Orchestra and the NY Philharmonic and received a Master’s Degree in Performance at Temple University. He joined the National Symphony in 1964 as the youngest member of the orchestra. He taught cello at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania; University of Nevada in Reno; and the University of Puget Sound. He founded and conducted the Northwest Chamber Orchestra for seven years. Prior to the pandemic, Richmond performed numerous concerts throughout the Puget Sound area featuring the music of J.S. Bach.
