American Red Cross Junior Lifeguard Program
June 26 - June 30
Get a jump on your lifeguard training! In the Junior Lifeguard Program, kids (ages 11-14) will build a foundation of knowledge, attitudes, and skills of future lifeguards. They’ll be introduced to all the components of the full American Red Cross Lifeguard Course such as: victim recognition, rescue skills, first aid, CPR, AED, and the development of swimming skills and endurance. Along the way, students will meet new friends, have fun, increase leadership skills, learn future work skills, and most importantly, learn how to respond to emergencies.
All Junior Lifeguard participants must pass a swimming proficiency test that includes:
- Swim 100 yards (4 lengths of the pool)
- Tread water for at least two minutes
- Swim 5 yards underwater
