CIT Program

9th-10th grade

Our Counselor in Training (CIT) program facilitates the transition from camper to counselor. CITs plan programs, lead activities, and help supervise campers. A combination of formal learning and time with campers helps develop valuable skills for working with kids, become role models in our local community, and prepare to be future SJCC Summer Camp counselors.

CITs also attend weekly workshops led by SJCC staff members. At the conclusion of the session, participants will be provided a certificate of program completion and documentation of community service hours.

CIT-trained teens are not guaranteed placement at SJCC Summer Camp as a counselor the following summer.
