Expecting a baby? Know someone who is?
The SJCC has a gift basket for every new Jewish baby in the greater Seattle area. Your Shalom Baby basket will be filled with items to welcome your new addition, and help you to nurture and bond with your baby. Also included is information to connect you with resources at the J and in our community.
Want to keep more involved with other new parents? Join our Facebook group to keep updated on happenings around the Greater Seattle area.
Shalom Baby Neighborhood Meetups
New to the area? Been here 20 years? Have a newborn, toddler or preschooler? Join us at one of our many Shalom Baby Neighborhood Meetups. Each meetup is designed to help you connect with other parents in the neighborhood while having a fun and meaningful time!
We currently have meetups in North Seattle, Sammamish/Issaquah and Mercer Island. Whether it’s a stroller fitness class, a coffee date, or a chat with one of the J’s early childhood professionals, it is bound to be fun. If you are interested in having a group meet in your neighborhood, contact SJCC Community Connections Professional Shoshanah Horne.

Everything that happens during the first five years of a child’s life shapes who they become as adults. That’s why the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle offers an age-appropriate opportunity to help strengthen your child’s Jewish identity: PJ Library!
When you sign up for PJ Library (PJ is for pajamas), they’ll send you a free, high-quality book or CD each month. Regardless of your level of observance or affiliation, the gift of stories and song is sure to enrich your entire family’s Jewish journey. Book topics include holidays, traditions, family values, Jewish identity and Jewish heroes. The books are carefully selected by top national Jewish educators, with an eye on books that are joyful, highly engaging, and represent the best Jewish children’s literature available.
