Family Events

Dinner at Our House

October 15, November 19, and December 17

5-7 pm

Do you like to cook? How about helping those in need? We’re partnering with YouthCare, an organization working to fight homelessness among Seattle teens, to cook dinner for 20 in the SJCC kitchen. Dinner will then be delivered to YouthCare’s Jackson Street facility to be served that evening. Please join us for a couple hours to help battle food insecurity among homeless teens!

Sukkot Family Hoedown and Havdalah

Saturday, October 7 | 6-8 pm
$12 adult/$8 child
Grab your cowboy boots for a rootin’ tootin’ Sukkot celebration! Enjoy dinner, entertainment from the Boot Boogie Babes, line dancing, Havdalah, and fun for the whole family. Everyone will get a red bandana to decorate and wear.

Sukkot Glean at Oxbow Farm

Celebrate Sukkot and the Jewish value of pe’ah (donating part of each harvest). We’ll gather the last of this year’s crops to donate to those in need. Stay after the harvest to shake the lulav and etrog, gather pumpkins, shop the farm stand, and dance to live music. Bring your own lunch and we’ll picnic together.

Shabbat Dinners

From meeting up at cool new restaurants to pajama Shabbats around town, the J’s Shabbat dinners are the place to be. Details to come.

Hands on Hanukkah

Sunday, December 3 | 11 am-1 pm
Northgate Mall (Seattle) and Crossroads Mall (Bellevue)
Make edible dreidels, decorate Hanukkah placemats, spin a giant driedel, take pictures in the photo booth, get your face painted, win prizes, and much more.

Hanukkah Art Class

Tuesday, December 5 | time and location TBD | ages 16+
Celebrate Hanukkah with an art class at a local studio. It’s a great chance to make gifts!

Community Hanukkah Celebration

Saturday, December 16 | 5:30-7:30 pm | FREE
Join us for our annual community Hanukkah celebration featuring Hanukkah games and crafts, live music, and delicious food vendors. We encourage donations benefiting YouthCare.

J Explorers

A program just for dads and their kindergarten through third graders. J Explorers play games, learn new skills, enjoy the great outdoors, and celebrate Jewish values with other dads and kids. Must be a J Explorers member to participate in events.
