Shabbat Unplugged - Up Close with Reptiles
Saturday, March 18 | 10-11 a.m.
Woodland Park Zoo
Join us for a wild Shabbat Unplugged at the Woodland Park Zoo. We’ll talk about our responsibility to treat animals and our ecosystem with compassion (rachum), and meet some of the zoo’s Ambassador Animals who will help illustrate the vast array of tools reptiles use to survive and thrive.
From the array of colors in a chameleon to the indeterminate lifespan of a tortoise, reptiles have truly amazing adaptations. With the Next Generation Science Standards in mind, zoo staff will teach us about what makes a reptile a reptile, how they use their environment to shape their needs, and how those very same environments have shaped their lives.
A program just for dads and their kindergarten through third graders. J Explorers play games, learn new skills, enjoy the great outdoors, and celebrate Jewish values with other dads and kids. Must be a J Explorers member to participate in events.
