Shabbat Unplugged: Snowshoeing

Saturday, February 4
10 am-2 pm
SJCC members $35 | Guests $40 (includes snowshoe rental)
Hyak Recreation Area, Snoqualmie

Join us for a special Tu B’Shevat-themed outing! We’re heading to the mountains for a guided snowshoe hike and a discussion about the importance of evergreen trees and succession of the forest. All levels and ages welcome!

Equipment needed:

  • Pair of Snowshoes (Included in registration)
  • Waterproof pants – Snow pants ideal, but rain pants with insulation under just fine
  • Jacket (preferably waterproof)
  • Sweater/hoodie/insulated top
  • Gloves
  • Hat
  • Water Bottle
  • Lunch
  • Backpack
  • Hand Warmers
  • Waterproof boots/shoes with stiff sole

Hands-On Hanukkah

Doing some holiday shopping? Stop by Northgate Mall for a fun hands-on Hanukkah experience for the whole family! Make edible dreidels, decorate Hanukkah placemats, spin a giant dreidel, make a photo book, win prizes, and more! Families of all backgrounds are welcome!

Menorah Mania

Saturday, December 17
5:30-7:30 pm
FREE for the entire community

Join us for our annual community-wide Hanukkah celebration! Make your own Hanukkah menorah to take home, decorate cookies, play life-sized dreidel game. Plus, enjoy performances from the Klezmatics and a re-telling of the Hanukkah story from the local musicians of Shul of Rock.

Food will be available for purchase from Napkin Friends, Delfino’s Chicago Pizza, and Street Donuts.

Please also bring supplies to donate to our mitzvah project: care kits to deliver to the homeless. Suggested items include:

  • Reusable water bottles
  • Non-perishable snacks (i.e. granola bars, jerky, nuts, etc)
  • Sunscreen
  • Eye drops
  • New underwear/boxers and socks
  • Hand warmers
  • New combs, brushes, nail care items
  • Razors
  • Deodorant
  • First aid supplies
  • Nail care items
  • Tissues
  • Ethnic hair supplies

Dive-In Movie: Finding Dory

Come watch “Finding Dory” while you swim and relax in the J pool. Bring a floatie or hang out on ours. Plus: we’ll have popcorn!

Dinner at Our House

Do you like to cook? How about helping those in need? We’re partnering with YouthCare, an organization working to fight homelessness among Seattle teens, to cook dinner for 20 in the SJCC kitchen. Dinner will then be delivered to YouthCare’s Jackson Street facility to be served that evening. Please join us for a couple hours to help battle food insecurity among homeless teens!

J Explorers

A program just for dads and their kindergarten through third graders. J Explorers play games, learn new skills, enjoy the great outdoors, and celebrate Jewish values with other dads and kids. Must be a J Explorers member to participate in events.
